‘Welcome back to Rapture’ Bioshock 2 Game Review

Bioshock 2, developed by 2K is a first person shooter based in an underwater city known as Rapture. Bioshock 2 is based 10 years after the end of the first Bioshock game. Bioshock 2 is available on both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

In this game you play as the very first Big Daddy. Those of you who have played the first Bioshock game will know what a Big Daddy is, those of you who don’t know, Big Daddies are the sole protectors of Rapture. They wear a big diver like suit and have a drill on one arm, no one knows what a Big Daddy really looks like.

In this game, the first Big Daddy (also known as Subject Delta) goes through the game to find his Little Sister, again those of you who don’t know, Little Sisters are the children of Rapture who are protected by the Big Daddies. In this game Subject Delta must find his Little Sister (also known as Eleanor Lamb) who has grown up since they last saw each other.

The main villain in this game is Eleanor’s mother Sophia Lamb who won’t rest until Subject Delta is dead. The other main enemies in Bioshock 2 are Splicers which are normal people but are hooked on the drug adam that makes them stronger and faster and an even more difficult enemy, the Big Sisters which are older versions of a Little Sister and wear a black diving suit, sort of what a Big Daddy wears but not bulky at all. The Big Sisters have been brainwashed by Sophia Lamb to kill Subject Delta.

Your sole purpose in the game is to survive. Bioshock 2 is a big improvement to the first game because it has a multiplayer option where you can fight other players worldwide. Bioshock 2 gets a 9/10 for great gameplay, storyline and other features.

LEGO is amazing: brick films

Those of you who don’t know what brick film is, brick films is a group of people who use LEGO to make a bit of plastic come to life with frame by frame stop motions. Stop motions are created by thousands of pictures put together to form a short film or however long you want.

BrickFilms.com uses this technique to make small LEGO characters come to life. I’ve watched a few of these brick films and I’m very impressed the way they made these videos. A few examples of brick films are ‘The Great Lego War’ and ‘Brick Street Customs’. These videos were posted on Youtube. If you want to watch one of the brick films then type in brick films in the search box on youtube or watch my favourite video ‘The Great Lego War’ at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgdmPaiT2-g

A lot of brick films are very imaginative. Some films may even act out scenes from movies or TV Shows but in LEGO form.

WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010

WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 created by THQ is a game of the WWE franchise, containing all 3 WWE brands: Raw, Smackdown and also ECW. The game is brilliant for WWE fans because it allows fans to fight as their favourite WWE wrestlers. The game is available on Playstation 3, Xbox360, PSP and Nintendo Wii.

The game is very addictive, especially on online mode where you can play against other players worldwide. There are also a lot of wrestlers you can play as, such as John Cena, Undertaker, Batista, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and many more.

Also the game comes with a lot of creative features such as create a wrestler, create an entrance, create a move set, story designer, paint tool and much more.     You can also upload your created content to WWE Community Creations or download content made by other users.

There are a few bad things about online mode like server glitches and evil hackers who freeze matches in order to win, but I guess you get that with every game. My rating for this game is an outstanding 8/10 for its brilliant gameplay and creative features. This game is definitely worth buying if you are a WWE fan.

It may cost roughly about £40 but it is definitely worth the money. You could probably get the game cheaper pre-owned from a gaming shop like HMV and GAME.

QUARANTINED!: Quarantine Movie Review

Quarantine, directed by John Erick Dowdle and released in fall of 2008, is a remake of the Spanish horror movie ‘REC’.

Quarantine is about a news crew who go to an apartment building with the fire department, where an elderly woman bites one of the officers. After the shocking event, they are sealed in the building by the SWAT team. They try to escape the building, not knowing why they are sealed in. They eventually find out that they have been quarantined due to an infection spreading through the building, that’s when the real terror begins. After a while, the bitten victims start to attack the residents and the people trapped inside. With no escape, total darkness and flesh-eating residents, who will survive the night?

Quarantine I must say is a great, horrifying experience from the eye of a camcorder. I’ll give this film a smashing 9/10 for great plot and brilliant camera work. It’s a bit tough to say if ‘REC’ or ‘Quarantine’ is better due to it being the same story, just different director, writers, actors, etc. The big difference is that ‘REC is a Spanish film and ‘Quarantine’ is an American remake. Even though this movie is no longer in the cinema, you can still buy it on DVD or if you prefer high quality, it is also available on Blu Ray DVD.
